// Hello World

A first post to kick things off — what this site is, why I built it, and what I plan to do with it.

Every site needs a first post. Mine has been sitting as a half-finished draft for longer than I’d like to admit. So here it is: the obligatory “hello world,” written not because I think anyone is waiting for it, but because hitting publish is the only way to start.

I’ve wanted a personal site for years — somewhere to think out loud, collect ideas, and occasionally share something worth reading. The problem was always the setup. I’d spend a weekend choosing a framework, another picking fonts, another bikeshedding over whether to use a CMS. Then I’d get tired and abandon it. This time I gave myself a constraint: ship something plain and simple, and worry about everything else later.

What you’re looking at is intentionally minimal. Black background, white text, no images yet, no comments, no newsletter signup. Just words. I find that constraints like this make it easier to actually write — there’s nothing to hide behind.

Going forward I plan to write about design, software, things I’m reading, and whatever else seems worth working through in public. Posts will vary in length. Some will be fully formed essays, others closer to notes. I’m not committing to a schedule, but I do want to write regularly — “regularly” being deliberately vague.

If you found this somehow, welcome. I hope something here is useful to you.
